They sold me a car that was way overpriced. I can't sell it because it has a branded title which i wasn't aware of. I purchased a 2013 bmw 550i from Atlanta best used cars on December 1st 2018. I wasn't aware that the vehicle had a branded title until today (March 16th 2020) when i tried to trade the vehicle in for something else. They told me that they don't buy back vehicles with a branded title. The sales rep whom i purchased the vehicle from told me that it was a consumer buy back but he didn't go in detail on informing me that it was a vehicle that the value was way lower because of the branded title. They sold me the vehicle for 22,099 dollars which in reality the vehicle was only worth 8 or 9 thousand because of the title status. I'm very unhappy with that. I called them and they said it's nothing that they can do about it.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2020/03/17) */ Just trying to understand your complaint: 1- You bought the vehicle in November of 2018 (According to the paperwork). You enjoyed it for about a year and a half. 2- At the time of sale your signature appears very clearly in three separate places acknowledging that you were aware that the vehicle had a branded title, yet the dealership was somehow able to hide this information from you. 3 -Now that you want to purchase another vehicle you feel the dealership should somehow repurchase your vehicle from you on your terms. 4 - You realized now that you overpaid for the vehicle in 2018 as you now have a better understanding of car prices. Unfortunately in the above situation there is nothing that the dealership did wrong. The sale was crystal clear. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2020/03/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The sales rep didn't explain to me what exactly a branded title was. I feel like they were just trying to make a sell. I put my car on KBB to try to sell it and modern Toyota called me about it. They told me that they would never buy a car with a branded title and this is where i learned about the actual value of the vehicle. I owe 17, 767 dollars on the vehicle and modern Toyota offered me 14,000 dollars on the KBB website so i went there expecting to pay off the difference which was 3,767. They couldn't do anything for me for me because they said that my car was worth only 7,000-8,000 with it having a branded title. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2020/03/18) */ Update for today 03/18/2020. Customer came in today wanting to trade or sell the vehicle back to the dealership. As a gesture of good customer service we agreed to look at the vehicle. Please keep in mind this vehicle now has about 30,000 more miles on it now as it did when he had bought it from the dealership. The vehicle was appraised by the appraiser and an offer greater, I repeat, GREATER than what he thought the worth of the vehicle was in 2018 was offered to him. The vehicle needs bodywork on at least 2 panels due to some sort of vandalism and some maintenance issues. This offer is good for a period of 7 days and customer may return and trade or sell it back to us after thinking this over. Hopefully he is satisfied with this generous offer. Thank you. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2020/03/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I went in to the dealership today to sell it back to them. I wasn't seeking a trade at all. They told me that the vehicle had about XXX-XXX dollars worth of damage and i agreed to pay for that damage. when i purchased this vehicle in November of 2018 i had no clue what the actual value of it was at the time. I just recently found of the value of it when i went to modern Toyota for them to purchase the vehicle from me. I purchased this vehicle for 22,099 dollars and they never told me the value of it. i looked online at a couple of similar vehicles before i purchased this one back on November of 2018 and the value of some similar vehicles was around 22,XXX-XX,000 dollars with similar mileage. Atlanta best used cars offered me 9,000 to 10,000 dollars for it and they said maybe 1,000 dollars more if it didn't have 27,000 miles more than it originally had when i purchased it. I think this company should give more knowledge about their vehicles before they sell them to people.
